This is my last post as a Collision-er. My season here has come to an end and the best is yet to come! I thought it would be nice to leave you all with a little bit of wisdom that I have gained these past 5 years. This passage has been ringing in my mind the last couple of days and I realize that it has been the summary of my growing experience here in Collision and in Sioux Falls.
“But we were gentle among you like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves… For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers. For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory” (1 Thessalonians 2:7-12).
As believers we are called to walk worthy of God and live as we are called—to a high and holy calling. Our business is to honor God, serve Him, never lacking to seek to be worthy of Him. When we live as we are called we have the power and potential to transform our schools, neighborhoods, workplaces, etc.
This is how to win people for the Kingdom, for Jesus.
I have learned that the Great Commission is for everyday.
I have learned to be intentional about sharing the gospel everywhere.
I have learned how to see through the lens of Jesus.
I have learned how to love the church and how to love the lost.
Collision has empowered me to live radically.
I am forever grateful for every staff member (past and present), student, financial supporter, and every great person I have met on this journey. I hope I have been the example of 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12 to you and pray that you would be this example for those around you.
Jesus is worthy and I am so honored to be a kingdom builder!
PRAISE REPORT:
A successful summer with student meetings, park gatherings, Bible studies, prayers, staff meetings, divine appointments, and so much more! God is good.
Student missionaries that have already stepped up and said “Yes!” to being missionaries in their schools this year.
Financial supporters who continue on this journey with us to seeing a nation for Christ! We thank God for you.
Last week the Collision students put their best effort forward during the LHS freshmen assembly and it went well. We thank them for their hours of preparation.
Protection from the rain last week at all of our homes and our office.
For the Memorial Middle School students who have expressed a burden for their school. They want to see authentic Christians and have Collision be inviting and fun and not just another thing to do.
For the Patrick Henry Middle School students who have expressed a burden for their school. They want students to be accepting and not superior. They desire for bullying to gone even though it is not that big of a problem right now.
PRAYER REQUEST:
Vita as she begins new ministry as a missionary to Tanzania, Africa.
Students as they dive into the 2015-16 school year next week!
The launch of Collision at the high schools and middle schools.
Families and businesses that were affected by the heavy rain last week.
In Christ,
Vita Gayduchik and the Collision Staff
