This year we have implemented a more formal volunteer process. We have had four volunteer training nights so far. In between these training nights we have been meeting with the volunteers in order to get to know their hearts and ensure that we place them in the right opportunity and school. This has been a very eye opening and beneficial process and we are grateful God is working in this area. We believe it will give both the students and volunteers a more fulfilling experience.
A few weeks ago at an outreach at Lincoln High School, a few German exchange students attended who were not Christians but had been invited by one of the students. One of the student leaders shared the gospel and it was a blessing to hear later how interested the German students were in what was said. Two students sat and talked with them for quite some time after the outreach. Even though the German students were only at Lincoln for a couple of weeks God gave students the opportunity to reach out to them and seeds were planted.
Different students leaders at LHS have been praying for specific students that have attended the after school outreaches. It has been such a blessing listening to these leaders pray for the other students at their school. We know prayer is powerful and we are believing to see God do great things throughout this year as we along with our student leaders and partners like you, continue to lift the students at Lincoln High School and the other schools around Sioux Falls up in prayer.
Thank you again for your faithful partnership with the ministry of Collision/First Priority of Sioux Falls!
PRAISE:
We praise God for all the new volunteers that God has blessed the ministry with.
Student leaders at Lincoln High School have really stepped up and taken more ownership of the activities at their school.
This past week during the Roosevelt High School student leaders meeting they were reading the Bible and answering their own questions through scripture.
Sioux Falls Christian students are meeting weekly with a desire to pray and worship together.
The middle school student leader party on Friday went well. A couple of middle schoolers joined who are not a part of Collision yet and want to get involved.
PRAYER REQUEST:
Pray for more committed student leaders at Lincoln High School who love Jesus and want to serve their school.
Pray for more boldness for Lincoln High School student leaders as they lead the outreach on Fridays after school.
Pray for consistent middle school leaders and that they will develop their leadership skills over the year. We are grateful for learning opportunities for student leaders as they plan, implement, and discuss what they learned/how they could improve next time.
Pray for students to empower their own families with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Pray for the new New Tech High student leaders who students recruited at the last outreach. Pray that they will add to the leadership team and feel valuable as leaders.
Continue to lift Kinsey Capaldo and her family in your prayers.
Only by His Love,
Tabitha Sadler and the Collision Staff
