Finding Thankfulness

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His lovingkindness is everlasting” (Psalm 107:1).
Okay, I admit it. Fall has not been my favorite season -- especially since we moved to South Dakota from Colorado a couple years ago. To me, fall means a long, cold winter is coming. In South Dakota it means that the long underwear comes out and is part of the wardrobe through March – just being real here, I’m more of a flip-flop girl!
This fall has been different. I’m really enjoying it this year. Maybe it’s the 60-degree weather or the fact that the trees have held onto their beautiful leaves longer. Or maybe, just maybe it’s because I’ve been trying to live more intentionally by being grateful. I’ve been starting my days thinking about all the things God has been doing each day in my life and the lives of those I love. I’m finding that my perspective is changing and I’m not focusing on the circumstances quite so much. I’m finding that I’m thankful more and more for the little things in life.
By being thankful for the little things it has also given me a renewed appreciation for the bigger things God has done. I’m thankful for a loving God who created the universe and loved me and had mercy on me, even in my sins, to send His Son for me. He not only did that but He continues to bless us. His blessings are there for us all the time.
Spring, summer, fall or winter, God continues to pour out His love towards me. As my family gathers for the holidays I want to remember to be always be thankful. Psalm 107:1 What are you thankful for in your life?
PRAISE:
Some Edison Middle School leaders have expressed that they are not as afraid to share what Jesus means to them with others. God has given them more courage as they are learning what a relationship with Jesus Christ truly is—they want to share that with other students—To God be the glory!
Last week Edison Collision had a parent meeting where the students did a mock Wednesday outreach. It was impactful for the parents to see what their students are doing in Collision. Some moms were also able to get connected with Moms in Touch, a prayer group.
Collision students will be able to create more awareness of Collision at the Activity Fair this Friday at Washington High School.
The student leaders at Lincoln High School have been doing a great job planning and leading their Friday Outreaches.
PRAYER REQUEST:
Pray for Middle school students to encourage one another through Christ’s love. Pray for them to step up when they have a concern about something they see or hear.
Join our staff in prayer, as we are having a strong focus on prayer for these next 3 days for staff, support, and students.
Please continue to lift Kinsey Capaldo in your prayers on her road to recovery.
We appreciate all of our volunteers!
In Christ,
Jeri Abraham and the Collision Staff
