First Priority / Collision

It is hard in the hectic pace of the Christmas season to stop and listen to the Holy Spirit, to yield to the voice of God. It was hard when Jesus was born and throughout His life for people to stop their frantic pace, to hear what Jesus was really saying. It seems as though this frantic pace is still capturing the world in its’ deadly claws. In the work that God is doing in Sioux Falls, through the ministry of Collision, it is listening to what children are really crying out for that opens the hearts to Jesus. These kids are begging for love, attention, and relationship. The hundreds of stories that we get to hear each week would stir you to want to do something about their desperate cries. Many of the cries are from deep brokenness in families, but others are cries for revival, cries for their generation to rise up and stand for Jesus.

Here are a few examples. Sioux Falls Christian students meet every Tuesday over their lunch hour. This last Tuesday the students gathered to pray for revival in their school and all over Sioux Falls. This week we’ve also heard from students who have devastating home lives and yet they have a joy inside of them that is rare. There is a girl at Washington whose home life is in shambles. However, she has overcome great odds against her and is winning souls for the Kingdom. She leads a small outreach and is taking other girls to church with her that were completely disconnected from the church. These girls are beginning to study the Bible and ask deep questions about Jesus and salvation. This leader’s cry is that God would use her life for His glory. Only God could work all things for good to those that are called according to His purpose. Jesus will build His Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against her.

Our hope this Christmas season is that we would have the opportunity to share the gospel with over six hundred students. We want to pause this Christmas season and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit as He leads and guides the Collision staff, volunteers, and student leaders to share the gospel. We don’t want to be so busy that we miss the opportunities that Jesus places right in front of us.

God is Gracious,

John Glasser and the Collision Staff
