The Year of God's Love

I believe 2016 is the year of God’s love. The number 16 stands for love. God is pouring out His Spirit upon His Church to declare to the world His love. His love is not how we think about love. His love was so fierce that He poured out His wrath against sin on His own son, because He so loved the world. He loves you.

I truly appreciated Pastor Mark Bertrand at Grace Presbyterian this Sunday talking about the greatest two questions that this next generation are asking: “Who will I love?” and “Who will love me?”. This is the theme of every great story, song, and movie. When students encounter the depth of their sin and the fierce love of their Heavenly Father, there is glorious praise that erupts in their hearts. This is true conversion that young people would not create their own God that loves them no matter what, but the real God who desires to reconcile the estranged relationship because of sin. He desires to set them free from their sin, to separate them to a life of holiness.

All of the brokenness that our American culture is creating is nothing new. Sin and Satan have been around a long time. But I believe that there is another Great Awakening on the horizon for America. My heart’s cry is to call the Church back to her first love, to seek the face of Jesus, and to ask that He would come and heal our land. We are seeing glimpses of God making Himself known to the next generation. That is what the Great Awakening will do. God will make His presence known to people. They will be filled with the fear of God because they will know their fate without Him. By God’s Grace alone they will cry out for mercy. My prayer is that our churches would be filled day and night with young people crying out for mercy from the one who spilt His blood because He loves them.

Enjoy this "video describing and highlighting just how great the love of God is. When we truly see that He loves us right where we are it sparks a desire in us to worship. God lavishes his love and grace on us amidst our failure and brokenness. He isn't surprised when we fall, stumble, or mess up. He saw it the whole time and loved us the same."

PRAISE:

  • WHS had 40 students at their last outreach. About 7 said they were interested in being part of a discipleship group.

  • God is connecting us to many people where we know it could only be Him, to benefit students and our staff.

  • We are making deeper connections with more churches.

Join us in asking Jesus for:

  • Students to have greater platforms for the gospel.

  • Him to raise up 40 more adult coaches and 50+ student missionaries.

  • Creative ideas for how to reach and impact the high risk students at LHS.

  • Someone to step up and take on outreach to Native American students.

  • Willing hearts and true faith that moves mountains between students.

  • Pray for students who have turned from God-Luke 15.

  • Him to stir the hearts of students to have a passion to reach their friends and schools for Jesus.

  • Plans for ithinkbig school assemblies and our annual celebration dinner in May.
