Growth at New Tech High

Collision / First Priority of Sioux Falls

When I first started getting involved in Collision as a New Tech High student we had around 10-15 committed students. This year, part of my staff role is to develop student leadership at New Tech High. At first, I was honestly a bit nervous. The main thing that was kind of getting me down was whether or not I could truly be used by God to help make this school blossom. I’m super excited to say this year has been our breakthrough year. Because of the commitment of our student leadership team, we started with around 30-40 students and have increased our numbers up to around 50-60 students! Student leaders are able to dig deeper into the Word of God with students who are starving to learn more about God. There has been so much growth that has happened in our student leadership meetings, taking place on Monday nights at Coffea.

A typical Collision Outreach, led by our student leaders, involves food and the discussion/lesson. Students come from different religions, backgrounds, and crazy situations where it is only by God’s help that they continue joining us. Currently, the students are discussing a series on the power the prayer and it’s been really encouraging for them. I’m super excited to see where God will lead these students.

PRAISE:

  • Sioux City Schools are opening their doors to having the ithinkbig school assembly team come the week prior to their week in Sioux Falls.

  • Praise God for new volunteers who came to training on Monday.

  • Praise God for our committed board members and the impact they have on Collision.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for the Lincoln High School Collision Leaders as they seek new ways to do their outreaches.

  • Continue to pray for preparations for the ithinkbig school. If you or someone/a group you know would like to prepare/donate food for 15 people, we in need of meals for lunch and dinner for the team for the week of April 17-22.

  • Continue to pray for the Annual Celebration Dinner and all the details that go into it. Pray that God is glorified and that students’ testimonies will have a big impact on those attending, even spurring on more student leaders, volunteers, and new donors.
