Trusting In The Lord

“I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable” (Psalm 145:1-3).

The Lord is worthy to be praised every day! I praise Him in the busyness.
May is always busy for us as we prepare for our Annual Celebration Dinner. It is like being on the tail end of preparing for a large wedding celebration. There are always a lot of details to consider. There is also excitement that comes along with it. I can’t wait to sit down at my table on Thursday and soak in all that the Lord has done this year.
We are also making preparations for summer. Our whole family is going to Ukraine for 8 weeks this summer to work alongside of Paul Logan and Arise! Ukraine Ministries (www.ariseukr.com). John was asked to help bridge a gap between the solid evangelism that takes place in the summer and what could potentially happen on campus in the school year. We will be traveling to villages and will help with Evangelism Camp and will spend some time on retreat. This is John’s sabbatical year for working with First Priority of Sioux Falls where he is allowed renewal leave.
Along with the excitement of this “adventure” comes the thoughts of taking care of all that needs to be done prior to us leaving, raising our support for the trip, wondering how the missions part will play out with our children, thinking about our safety, and making preparations for August when we arrive back in Sioux Falls.
We are claiming Isaiah 26:3 as a family, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you”. Also Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart”.
We are trusting that God will provide the $6,800 we still need for our trip (expenses above and beyond our normal living expenses).
We are trusting that even though our kids often fight with one another with their words, they will be bond more through this trip and will be used mightily by God.
We are trusting that God will be our protector on the flights and at the places that we visit.
We are trusting in our Collision ministry staff that they will have a fruitful summer with carrying on normal responsibilities, raising personal support, connecting with volunteers, students, and churches, and growing deeper in Him and with one another.
We are trusting that when we get back we will have time and feel ready for school to begin workwise and personally for our own children.
Please be in prayer for all these things mentioned above, and for us in the ministry that we get to be a part of in Ukraine. Pray that God will use each of us with our unique gifts and that we will willingly do whatever He calls us to.
“I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High” (Psalm 9:1-2).
PRAISE:
Many students will be testifying of what God has done through and in them at their schools at the Celebration Dinner on Thursday.
Great is the Lord! He is so worthy of our praise!
Prayer Requests:
Pray that students will be determined to complete their schoolwork to the best of their ability.
Pray that students would love God’s word.
Pray that students would be courageous in the words they speak to each other.
Please pray throughout the summer for the Glasser Family and their time in Ukraine.
