Are You A Disciple?

This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. I pray that you are having a blessed summer and enjoying the sun because we all know how that can change so quickly in our state. God has been highlighting in my life what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Jesus talks to a large multitude of people in Luke chapter 14 about counting the cost. We as FOLLOWERS not fans of Jesus have to make sure that Jesus is always the Lord of our lives. As a follower of Jesus I have to summit myself completely to His will and make sure that He is the most important priority in my life. It’s time for us to operate with and unquenchable zeal for the gospel. I talked with an evangelist this past week. He said that there are people across seas that are trying to kill him. The beauty is that as he shared this with me he smiled and laughed (John 15:18-21). “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples. ‘Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear’ “ (Luke 14:31-35).
ARE YOU A DISCIPLE?
MINISTRY UPDATE: This summer has been such a blessing. Ministry during the school year is very intense and all of the staff are pulled in so many different directions that we rarely have the opportunity to connect. Because of this it was my heart for the summer for us as a staff to rest in the Lord and to grow closer together. I have seen more trust being built this summer and our communication with each other has gotten a lot better. The staff also have been very intentional about building a stronger support base so that when the school year begins again finances are not an added pressure. Our times in prayer as a staff have been simply amazing and God has spoken some really awesome yet challenging things. We are doing life together as a staff family. Beyond this, we as staff along with some of our students, have been involved with some very valuable training sessions to better equip us in our personal relationships with Jesus as well as to more confidently share the gospel with others. The results of these trainings are amazing. We are seeing students and staff have more boldness in sharing the gospel. We have also continued many of our small group outreaches for middle and high school. We know that so many students have encountered Christ for the first time in these groups and are getting connected to churches. Thank you for making a difference by your prayers, your time, and your financial support! Love you guys.
