"Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." -Ephesians 4:1-3 (NASB)
How can I please my Heavenly Father? In Ephesians, Paul is writing to them and imploring them to walk in a manner worthy of the calling. Directly after that he gives specific details on how to do that. First he tells us we need to have humility. We don’t need to be the one in the limelight. We need to serve no matter what the task God calls us to do.
Next Paul tells us to respond with gentleness. We are to do this even when we we’re not treated with gentleness and it can be hard. It takes denying ourselves and what we feel are our rights.
With patience is the next part. Having patience is difficult in trying situations. Being able to wait on God can bring us strength (Psalm 27:14). We need to be gentle and patient by showing tolerance for one another in love. That means living with forgiveness for any way people can offend us.
Paul ends with telling us to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We need to always be trying to live in unity with believers in peace. This takes us being aware of our actions. How can I please my Heavenly Father? With His help, I live with humility, gentleness, patience, tolerance, unity and peace. May God help us to walk in a manner worthy of His Calling.
PRAISE:
We had a middle school Collision gathering on Friday. Students were challenged with the question, If they died today would they be 100% sure that they would go to heaven. This question led to some very meaningful gospel conversations. The students were also empowered to share Him with their peers.
The Lord is revealing His love to our staff and challenging us in many ways.
Prayer Requests:
For students to be on fire to share the gospel, especially the first weeks of school as students are looking to belong and be accepted.
For new volunteers and our returning volunteers to come alongside and empower teens. ("A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone believed they could."-unknown).
