What an exciting first week of school! Memorial Middle School kick started off the year with over 80 students attending Collision. We are praising God for having about 15 student leaders who are on fire and excited for the new evangelism training and are already implementing these biblical strategies. Jon Setzer challenged every student to share the gospel with 5 people before we meet again and to also write 15 names of people who they would like to see come to Christ. God is continuing to open doors for Collision so that the gospel can be shared throughout the city and impact our youth.
Last night, we hosted our first volunteer training meeting which went awesome. God blessed us with 10 new adult volunteers! The training included what the vision for Collision looks like this year as well as training on how to evangelize and share the gospel as well. We will continue to work with volunteers and make sure they feel equipped, so they in turn can challenge students in what they are doing to share the gospel while being a role model as well.
PRAISE:
The success of our first volunteer training! We have 2 more options this month, Thursday, September 22 from 11am-1:30pm, and Saturday, September 24 from 9-11:30 am, both of them at the Collision Office (3815 S Western Ave). Please let us know if you would like to attend one of these trainings.
Students are eager to impact their schools for Jesus!
Praise God that there will be a lot more leaders at Harrisburg High School!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
We are praying that many businesses partner with all the schools we do ministry in, and invest in the students by providing mentors through Lutheran Social Services or Collision. If God puts it on your heart of a business we should connect with, please let us know.
Pray for boldness for the students as they share the gospel and their stories of how Jesus changed their lives to friends and family.
Pray for more adult volunteers who are ready to go out and spread the gospel by empowering students to do the same.
Pray for a successful school year. Our definition of success this year is “How many students were obedient to the Great Commission?”
Lord, we pray with all prayers and supplication that we may open our mouths boldly to make known the mysteries of the gospel (Eph 6:19).
