John 13:34-35, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
The word love has been coming up a lot lately for me in my studies and in other interactions. Love is not a feeling it is an action. According to Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.“ God didn’t just say He loved us, He showed us by sending His son to die for our sins. So many other places in the Bible talk about how He demonstrates His love for us. In John 13:34-35, He commands us to love one another. This is not just a feeling or in words, but he wants us also to demonstrate love to one another in action.
At New Tech High last week, we read a story out of Bob Goff’s book “Love Does” about a guy who went to outlandish lengths to propose to his girlfriend. He stopped at nothing. His love was audacious. His love was contagious as he got others, even strangers to help him pull off his plan. The student leaders challenged the other students to go out of their way to show love to others. They should look for ways to love each other big. This week they are going to share their stories of how they showed love to others. That is my challenge for all of us, to have audacious love for one another. We’d love to hear how you showed love to someone.
PRAISE:
Students are sharing their faith and getting boldness. It is contagious as others hear the testimonies.
Staff are more intentional with sharing the gospel; a lifestyle modeled.
John, Antonio and Lyuvena have had the opportunity to train and encourage many students and churches about opportunities for student evangelism and multiplying disciples in Ukraine.
Prayer Requests:
Pray that students will keep taking ownership in their walks: reading the Bible, praying, fasting, worshiping, and witnessing.
Pray for God to raise up volunteers to help lead small groups, ones who will equip and empower students to share the gospel with others.
There are around 50 students who want to get connected in sharing their faith. We will continue to reach out to groups of students, encouraging them to share their faith. We need volunteers!
