Early in the school year, Harrisburg High School Collision Leaders brought donuts to the cafeteria for a couple times and asked students what questions they have about God. They also invited students to Friday outreaches where they would be discussing these questions. It has been encouraging to see the student leaders take ownership in preparing and facilitating discussions on Fridays.

Recently, the groups discussed the question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” One leader started the conversation by explaining that there are no good people. Another leader shared about the good things that resulted in something hard, the death of a family member.

Collision Leaders are being challenged to find out exactly what they believe by being ready to discuss answers to questions like the one above.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” (1 Peter 3:15). PRAISE:

  • For the leadership the students are taking in their schools and small groups.

  • 5 more volunteers were trained this weekend.

  • About 70 students in Ukraine, from 6 different cities, either responded to the call to be a missionary or received training on how to share the gospel with their friends and family (as they had already said yes this summer to wanting to be a missionary). The Fire of Hope Team in Ukraine will continue to follow up with these students.

Prayer Requests:

From Scriptural Prayers for the Next Generation by Arlyn Lawrence:

  • Calling and Purpose. Lord, You have a plan to prosper this generation, to give them hope and a future. Remind these young people that no matter what their circumstances are, You knew and planned for them before they were even born. Give them the passion to live with a deep sense of purpose as Your ambassadors. (Jer. 29:11; Ps. 139:13-16; 2 Cor. 5:20)

  • Character. May the next generation of believers always maintain clean hands and pure hearts. Rather than being conformed to the world, God, may they experience an ongoing transformation by having their minds renewed in You. Strengthen them to be Christ-like examples to the world. (Ps. 24:4; Ro. 12:2; 1 Tim. 4:12)

  • Discernment. Lord, may these young people take hold of the deep truths of faith so that the enemy won’t be able to deceive or outwit them. Sanctify them by Your Truth. When they are exposed to teachings, lifestyles, and activities that don’t conform with Your Word, may they stand firm in the truth, take captive every thought and live in obedience to Christ. (1 Tim. 3:9; 2 Cor. 2:11; Jn. 17:17; Eph. 6:14; 2 Cor. 10:5)

  • John, Antonio, and Lu will arrive back in Sioux Falls from the Ukraine on Friday night. Please pray for safe travels for them.

The South Dakota Prayer Coalition has extended an invitation to gather together in Sioux Falls Christian's MS Gym next Monday, November 7, at 7 pm. Lift up in prayer our nation's election and also spend time praising our Savior for His continual watch over us. 2 Chronicles 7:14
