Wow, it’s hard to believe it is 2017! Last semester went by so fast. We got to see God do some amazing things. We saw students give their lives to Christ. I’ve seen a hunger for the word of God be cultivated at Roosevelt. The students are on fire. A couple students came together to start a prayer rally, that meets every Thursday morning at 7:40am, to meet and pray around the flag pole. They call it Faith Spark and the name is very fitting.
With my devout Sioux Falls Christian students, I have seen a righteous zeal for living a holy life pleasing to God be stirred up at their school. The students there are tired of seeing the word Christian mismodeled and are challenging their peers.
This week we talked and identified where we carry the most influence. We identified people groups like ROTC, band, choir, intellectuals, sport teams, drug users, etc. I asked the questions, "Can you think of 3 people in those groups that need to hear about Jesus? What other Christians in those groups would join together with you to pray and maybe do a devotional or a Bible study?" So they are praying through this and identifying students.
As I was typing this Jordan WolfEyes, a sophomore student leader at Roosevelt, texted me Ephesians 6:11. I said, “Thanks, what made you send me this?”.
He said “Cuz you text out verses almost every day so I might as well do it the days you forget lol”.
I said, “Jordan you are a rock star for Christ”.
Then he said this, and it really ministered to me, “Every rock star needs a band and a crowd that will listen to them”. WOW!!!
So you who are reading this today, if you are not already a rock star for Christ, you can become one. You will have a band of brothers and sisters that will support you and be in your band. The crowd is coming together waiting to hear the hope and life change and liberation that comes in making Jesus the head of their lives. Relationships give birth to discipleship.
Prayer Point: Ask God who you need to build a relationship with to pour yourself into their lives. What do you need to move around in your schedule so that you can obey God’s command to make Disciples? Matthew 28:17-20

PRAISE:
Collision Night of Worship and Testimony will be this Friday at Celebrate Church from 6-8:30 pm. We pray that Friday will encourage others, produce courage in others for them to go out and share, and build a foundation for what is to come.
We have some amazing volunteers working with students who are hungry for more of God and for others to know Him like they do! We also are thankful for our “behind the scenes” volunteers!
Praise God that we are able to be teachable and share what we have learned with others.
Prayer Requests:
Pray for the students as they identify other Christians within their spheres of influence, to be bold when they come together for the cause of Christ.
For great expectancy of how God will move this week.
Continue to ask God for more volunteers to help with groups of students who want to share Christ with others, with the added accountability. We have groups of students waiting who need volunteers.
